The title says it all. The people over at Non-Directional Translations have released a teaser/beta patch recently. For those of you who have been waiting, it has been a long wait. You can get the patch here.
And yes, this blog is still alive. I just need to survive this final wave of exams, and I should be back to updating regularly.

I just started watching Kanon about 3 days ago, and I pretty much finished it off today, and I’ve spent almost a month searching for an english translation for the Visual Novel, but all I’ve found here and there are teasers and bits of Haeleth’s project.
Finally this makes me so happy, especially since this post is really recent.
Though.. if you’ve tried it out, how much of Kanon does it patch into English? And is there a website to keep up with these updates?
How far is the translation and is there a website that I can keep up with the updates for this?

I’ve only tested the patch a little bit, but the translation should be complete. As stated, its basically a beta patch. The patch should be for the Standard Edition, however I imagine that it should work for the all ages edition(though I think the all ages was for the PS2 ver only?). In fact, this patch originates from Haeleth’s dropped project from a couple years ago. You can visit the people at NDT for more info. Glad to see another eroge fan out there. But, is the NDT patch intentionally turning off the voice in Kanon?
Or is there some kind of new SEEN.txt or.. file.. or something that I can download to allow voice to work?
No problem. Which ver. of Kanon do you have? Is it running off of the reallive or avg32 engine? NDT should have improved off Haleath’s old project, and it should have support for all ver of Kanon, including the voiced. However, if it is voice patched, it might not be compatible. Or it could just be that the patch is in beta form so… Frankly I have no idea, as I have the SE, which works just fine. If I find anything out, I’ll let you know.
It’s the Standard Edition (The one that runs off REALLIVE.exe).

After I posted my last comment and read the ‘readme.txt’ file that came with the teaser patch (or rather, the one that appears after patching REALLIVE.exe), it says that ‘Voice Patch will come out after full release’.
(Hehe, I was just looking at the NDT site and read the .pdf file they had there, and saw the progress of all the arcs, most of which are 100%’d, except the Ayu and Main arc, and was so happy. I actually thought the current teaser patch was the latest beta version, but that doesn’t seem to be it. ^^;)
Has someone downloaded the patch from mediafire? Then please put a mirror link either on megaupload or rapidshare because mediafire doesn’t work for me. pretty please

Read the above comments. As long as you have the realive.exe engine, you should be fine. Although I haven’t tested, I imagine it should work for the avg engine as well.
Ok, i tested it. I have the avg engine, and it doesn’t work (what a letdown). Or is there something I can do to make it work? Like copying files or anything, or I should get the reallive engine?

Ive got the english patch and it works fine, i desperatly need the complete version because ive started mai’s arc and it stopps just before the school ball. please does sombody know the updated version, im pullin my hai out!!
